Making a Difference: Cobb Moms Helping Cobb County

In the heart of Georgia, a community-driven initiative is changing lives one family at a time. Administrator Katie Hurn tells the story of Cobb Moms Helping Cobb County which began as a Facebook group a decade ago, offering financial support to single parents facing everyday challenges.

Transformative Impact & Organizational Growth

  • Assisted 35 families with groceries, 48 with housing, and 28 with utilities in 2023.

  • Already aided 20 families in the first two months of 2024.

  • Transitioned into a 501(c)(3) nonprofit to enhance transparency and expand outreach.

Compassionate Support & Recipient Focus

  • Provides direct assistance for essentials like rent, groceries, and car repairs.

  • Prioritizes families with children under 18, recognizing their unique vulnerabilities.

Sustainable Future & Community Engagement

  • Navigating social media algorithms to ensure continued visibility and support.

  • Offers volunteer opportunities ranging from administrative tasks to direct assistance.

Challenging Myths & Building Legacies

  • Challenges stereotypes by highlighting the hard work and resilience of families in need.
